May was a good month for this site. We experienced the Zeldman Link. It generated traffic the likes of which we have never seen.

Well, I didn't write on the site all this weekend. This weekend was a three day weekend. I rented Crazy Taxi from Blockbuster. It's pretty good but I'm not sure I will buy it. Today at school it was fun. We went to the gym and did these races on these sort of scooters. They're flat boards with four wheels on the bottom In each corner. After that we had another ice cream party. We had it because there was some ice cream left over from the other party.
On Saturday we saw this funny movie. If you're having trouble figuring out where to go click on "check please". Here's where it came from. And here's where I got the smurf link. Here's a good site. Mom really likes it. It has a lot of puzzle games in it. Those are Mom's favorite games.

An extra day off. Thanks, Memorial Day. This weekend was very restful. We hung out at the house and made a few short trips here and there. Jack went to a birthday party yesterday afternoon. We watched Vertcal Limit on dvd Saturday night - it was OK. They overdid the "cliffhanger" scenes. I picked up Sleepy Hollow at the video store for $2.99 and we watched that last night. Lots of heads rolled in that one. Johnny Depp was pretty good and I'm still trying to decide if I like Christina Ricci as a blonde. Christopher Walken freaks me out even when he doesn't have pointy teeth and crazy contact lens eyes.
We got Clarke his own domain name for graduation. Be sure to visit him at his new address - theclarke.com. You might also want to take a look at this. I'm not sure what's going on here but we were rolling on the floor after watching it (parental advisory - there are a few scenes in this production that show obscene hand gestures).
Jack rented Crazy Taxi (for ps2) yesterday so we'll be seeing lots of that today. We haven't decided where we're going or what we'll do today. Beckie did tell me that I will be going grocery shopping. Also, we need to clean the rat cage. I need to get some good gameboy camera photos.

Such a long week and I am tired. I revisited a favorite page a little earlier and maybe I'm still tired but I am smiling. Go take a look at that favorite page and if it doesn't make you smile then I guess you just can't be made to smile.

jack

I'm glad the week is over. All week i've been thinking about the game crazy taxi. The only reason why because I once played it in the arcade at Frankie's funpark. My mom's not sure yet. She thinks it's too old for me. I don't think it will be too bad. I have to get it for ps2. Well I think it will be a good weekend. Here's a good site.

Clarke is flying solo now. I got him set up with an html editor and an ftp program and he's on his own. His entries are not as upbeat as when he first posted. I think it's a good thing he's coming back to the US of A. He may have been too long in the land of the rising sun.
We had visitors from up north at work today. I feel another corporate re-organization coming on. Tomorrow should be fairly intense as it usually is before a long holiday weekend.

Well today it's the paradise picnic. It's just a picnic. Or I can go to REACH. I'm not quite sure yet but I gotta decide pretty soon. Yesterday we went to Redbone Alley. It was really fun. Last night my computer kept on freezing up. Eventually we figured it out. Here's a good site.

Today's been pretty good. Allen came over. We went to the mall. Then we went to Manifest Music. It's kind of suprising that they don't have a site. At Manifest dad got the Hottie Boombalotie cd. Tripp got The Mask soundtrack. Allen got Incubus. The hottie boombalattie cd is nothing but the same song. Only they change the words a little bit. Nothing else has been happening. Here's a good site.

jeb

Allen paid me back the $20 he owed me. Then we went to Manifest and he borrowed $13 of it back from me. His mom came by to give him some money so he could go out to eat with Tripp and the church youth group, she also brought my $13 so Allen and I are all square. I got a Hottie Boombalottie cd for 50 cents which is about what the jewel case it came in is worth. The cd itself is worth considerably less.
Finally heard from Clarke. He's been busy and sent us an update. Go see his site for lots of news. Got to go. Jack and I are watching the Addams Family movie. I really miss Raul Julia.

Quiet Saturday at home with a few various short trips. I've spent a good part of the day reading up on CSS. I have learned a lot - both about CSS and my antiquated web skills. I seem to have an unhealthy attachment to tables and font tags. I won't even go into my addiction to frames. 4 shades of gray is nothing but tables and font tags. I seem to have purged the links page of both. Unfortunately, it is one of the easiest pages on the site to convert. I'm still not sure how to position the photos and text properly on the photos pages without using tables. I'll keep at it until my site is free of these undesireable elements. I just wish someone could promise me that I won't need to do this again anytime soon.

Independents Day is Jeffrey Zeldman's latest collaborative web-type project. Jack and I both signed up. It is certainly a worthy effort and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. On a completely unrelated Zeldman note - his book is now in stores. It's $30 or $40 so we may have to give it a thought before we plunk down that kind of cash. However, we have probably gotten at least $30-$40 worth of good ideas from his site and I'm sure that Jack got at least $40 worth of traffic from the Zeldman Link so maybe we better go get a copy. We'll let you know.
Still haven't heard from Clarke.

jack

Today was pretty usual. We didn't have a Mat 7 test today. At Colonial today was usual. Also today I finished my book. If you want to know what it was, it was Captain Underpants. At recess dodgeball isn't as good as it used to be. The teachers have taken over now. It isn't the same thing now. It's not even fun anymore. It never was really.

Tursday, 17

I didn't write in this yesterday because i was tring to make this paper airplane. It was pretty hard but we got the hang of it. I now know how to do it without the instructions. But nothing really happened. Today we took a Mat 7 test. They're so boring I hate them. Since everybody passed their states test we get to go to Redbone Alley. I think the paradise picnic is on REACH day. The paradise picnic is something we do every year. It's pretty fun. I finished my book Borgel by Daniel Pinkwater. It was really funny. Here's a good site.

jeb

I added a link to Fairvue. It is a well-designed site that has been sending a little traffic this way. Haven't heard from Clarke. He was going to send me updates for his site and I'm supposed to post them for him until we get it figured out for him to do it himself. I added a link for him over in the links box.
I really like the gameboy camera and I think it's pretty cool. So, if a gameboy camera is cool, how cool is a gameboy sewing machine?

Tripp finally finished his history website project so I finally got some computer time tonight. New photos posted to my website so go take a look. Updated Clarke's site for him so take a look at that site, too. Work has been intense this week but today was a little slower. Jeremy came by the office around 4:30 so I left early. He still likes his job. John called this afternoon and he and Ashlin and the baby are well.

Yesterday when I was writing I put Friday instead of Monday. I already it changed though. It's really early and nothing is happening right now. Just a minute ago Otter was streching. Whenever he gets up he also does these wierd exercises. Here's a good site

Well I forgot to write during the weekend. Nothing really happened. For Mother's Day we gave Mom new sheets - very expensive. We got them from Stein Mart. And a radio for Mom's office, from K Mart. I'm wondering if K Mart is one word or two. Well today we were taking the practice test for some kind of test that we're taking. I think they make up these tests to toture us. Also yesterday we went to Picadilly Cafeteria. I think that's how it's spelled. Anyway we went for my grandparents because they like it. We had to wait a little while but it wasn't too bad. When we got in, the food was pretty good. Here's a good site.

Looks like the great Zeldman link rush is over. I thought Jack might experience some post web celeb depression but he's more focused on how great it was to be the webmaster of the hottest 10 year old kid site on the web than his sudden loss of popularity. Today Jack will be writing thank you notes to all of those people who signed his guest book or sent him emails. He got some good links on other pages so we've added a few new links here.

Friday, 11

jack

Well yesterday the hit count was over 1800. Thanks Zeldman and all the other people who gave me a link. Here's one of them. Here's one kid who did good. Here's another site that helped. But here's one you should look at. It's a very good site. Also thank you people who signed the guest book. Today I'm already at 96 hits which a lot for me.

Thank you Zeldman! I just got 80 visitors and it's not even 7 o'clock. My dad's never gotten that many in one day. I wonder how many more I'll get. I hope this doesn't make me an "overrated back-scratching elitist link-*****".

jack

Well It's really cool to have alot of visitors. Thanks to everybody who came to visit my site and thanks to Jeffrey Zeldman who sent most of them. One of the people who signed my guestbook wanted to know something about us. There's a picture of me on the left. Here's a little about us on my Dad's site. Last time I checked I had over 1100 visitors. Yesterday I only got 4. But I just got the counter started yesterday late. I went to the dentist yesterday and had to get this medicine for this infection. It's the worst tasting medicine I've ever had, which every medicine is to me. Again thanks Zeldman. Also because of him I got some other links. Back to the medicine. Right after I take it I have to drink a glass of water. In case you haven't noticed the graphic at the top was resized for all you 800X600 people. Here's a good site.

Today I went to the dentist. She gave me this medicine that tastes awful. Before we went to the dentist we went to the dollar store. I got this thing that when you squeeze it's eyes bug out. They kinda come out of his head. I had a load of homework. There's this weird person at REACH that looks like Eliza Thornberry off nick. It's really weird. There's this magic trick that I know where I stick needles through my finger. Or was that a carrot? Whenever my rat hears a hairdryer it goes nuts. Even if I'm in my room and it can barely hear it. This morning while I was feeding them Margarita went crazy and started hopping around and making weird noises. That's all that's been happening lately. Oh, here's a good site to help you learn how to build a website. It's where I got one of my first lessons. Good for kids and adults.

jeb

I told Jack if he wrote a good entry for the site tonight, we'd set him up with a guestbook and a site stats thing. He did pretty good, so I guess we better get busy.

Intense day at work. 2 bids due plus it was Carolyn's birthday. I got her a bottle of wine. I had the wine snob guy at the party shop select it for me. So, maybe it's a good wine or maybe it's something he needed to get rid of. Hard for me to tell since I'm not really a wine guy.
Jeremy called today. He still likes his job and Meagan still won't move. He got a car. 1990 VW Golf - Wolfsburg Edition with over 180,000 miles. He says it looks and runs good. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure it's better than the Subaru it's replacing.

I haven't been writing in my log because, I forget. On Sunday we went to Charleston. We were having a field trip the next day. One reason we spent the night there was Casey's aunt lived there. She has 7 cats. Winter, Bluzap, Shakti, Eliza, Thelmo, Eddie, and Gradie. She's also an artist. She has this one painting in her house that was supposed to be an abstract but it turned out to look violent. It's this guy looking at you sideways, and these two things were sticking into his head. It was scary. Our field trip was to an aquarium. It was fun. Today dad gave me my magazine. I get it every month from the Flea market. There always is this thing about a game. But instead i got an air freshener. And it doesn't smell good. This site is stupid. Here's my brother's rat:

jeb

It may be a while before I can read one of the new books I got yesterday - "Zero The Biography of a Dangerous Idea". Tripp likes it so I started the Kerouac collection instead. Probably be later before I actually get really started with it. All the family needed lots of Dad/husband attention after work today. Things are finally calming down a little. The game I ordered for Beckie was delivered during supper. I got her "Chip's Challenge" for the Atari Lynx I got not long ago. She used to be quite fond of the computer version a few years ago and she seems to be no less enamored with the Lynx version. Tripp is reading and Jack is in the tub.
No Braves tonight - travel day. They're heading out on a week-long road trip. It's a left coast trip so there will be lots of 10:00 games which are past my bedtime.

OK, so it looks like we'll go with the running around at the last minute Mother's Day gift buying plan. Somehow we managed not to get a gift this weekend. We went out to places where they had suitable gifts - we just never got around to picking one and paying for it and bringing it home and wrapping it.
Jack and Beckie are on a road trip today. They have gone to Charleston with friends. They'll spend the night at the mommy friend's sister's house and go on a field trip with Jack's class tomorrow and be home tomorrow night. Tripp and I didn't do much today. We watched "Space Cowboys" which Beckie had rented for us before she went out of town. It was not too bad. I think it was Beckie's plan to keep me from renting some unsuitable "R" rated movie for Tripp and me which is what I usually do when she's out of town. If this was her strategy, it did not work. Tripp fished around in our movie closet and came up with "The Jackal".
Tripp and I just got back from Books-A-Million. I got two books:

I'll let you know if they're any good.

The Braves are not doing well. Luckily, it's early in the season so there's plenty of time to get better. A two game losing streak is not all that bad and a 13-17 record isn't too far from first place in the NL East.
6:00 am Saturday morning and everyone is up early. Jack is playing ps2 and Beckie and Tripp are sort of watching him play. Mother's Day is next Sunday and we need to get the goods this weekend or we'll end up rushing around next Saturday in a panic buying something at the last minute. Which is what will probably happen.

The USA vs China hacker war is BIG FUN. Looks like we're way ahead. Take a look for yourself. Be warned, however, that many of these hacked pages contain much profanity. Here's one with no profanity and it has a special greeting just for me.
Beckie and some of her friends went to see this person tonight. I am at home tonight with the boys. They are in Jack's room watching Survivor which we are taping for Beckie. I am watching the Braves. Maddux pitched a shut-out last night.

Just so this page doesn't get unmanageably long, april has been archived. I'm starting to figure out the new phone system at the office. I transferred a call and managed to retrieve an old message today. John called me at the office and didn't listen to all the recorded instructions so he got someone else's desk. They transferred him. He is well.
Jeremy spent stayed with us last night. He brought the dogs. Beckie was not happy but she handled it pretty well. Jeremy's car is almost done so he didn't want to drive it back to the beach tonight. Top speed is now 45 mph. Meagan drove up and got him. I let him leave the dogs here again tonight. Not sure if Beckie will be as cooperative two nights in a row.
I got my Watara Supervision games today. I think Beckie will really like "Pyramid" - a blatant "Tetris" ripoff. Looks like most Supervision games are ripoffs of some Gameboy game. I am now fairly hooked on Dragon Dance. Clarke's gameboy camera link came in today. We'll have to see how he's coming with my video game requests before we decide whether or not to mail it to him.

jack

Today was PACT testing again. It was boring just like it always is. We're still going to do it next week. On Monday we're going on a field trip. We're going to an aquarium. One bad thing happening next week is, I have to go to the dentist's office. I hate it there. I almost always have cavities. Did you like that site about how bacon is made. Well if you did you will like this one. Also today at day care we had to watch a Stupid movie. It was some movie a girl brought. When the teacher put it in she wasn't even watching it. That's pretty stupid. Here's another good one. Nothing else really happened today.

This really nice 3 column layout was stolen (with not just permission but encouragement) from blue robot. We think it looks great and blue robot says it works with just about any browser you might be using. Thanks, blue robot.
Thanks for visiting jackpott.org. While you're here why don't you sign and/or view our guestbook?
